TOPTAN is made from a lightweight, patented tan-through fabric designed to let part of the sun’s UV light pass through the swimsuit, allowing the skin underneath to tan gradually.

The effect comes from the fabric itself — no coatings or chemical treatments are added to create the tan-through technology.

• Does It Really Work?

Yes but gradually, not instantly.

Your skin can tan beneath the swimsuit while you wear it. How quickly you notice the effect depends on your skin type, the intensity of the sun and how often you wear your TOPTAN.

The result develops over time rather than after a single day in the sun.

• Will I Still Have Tan Lines?

Tan lines can still appear, especially at first.

The difference is that the skin beneath your TOPTAN can tan too, so the contrast between covered and uncovered skin can become softer over time.

The result varies from person to person, but the idea is simple: fewer harsh white lines and a more balanced-looking tan.

• How Can I Get the Most Even Result?

Protect exposed skin with sunscreen according to its instructions. This helps prevent uncovered areas from tanning much faster than the skin beneath the swimsuit, allowing the overall colour to develop more gradually.

We also recommend enjoying the sun sensibly: favour mornings or later afternoons when possible, take regular shade breaks and avoid excessive time in direct sunlight.

• Does TOPTAN Provide Sun Protection?

Tan-through fabric is designed to filter part of the UV light while allowing some to reach the skin for tanning.

It provides more coverage than bare skin, but it is not intended to replace sensible sun-protection habits. Use appropriate protection on exposed areas and avoid spending longer in direct sun simply to speed up your tan.

Yes. The lightweight fabric dries quickly after swimming, making TOPTAN especially comfortable for long beach days, travelling and moving between the water and the rest of your day.

It is the kind of swimsuit you can swim in, dry off in and simply keep wearing.

• Is TOPTAN Lined or Padded?

No. TOPTAN swimsuits are intentionally made from a single layer of tan-through fabric.

There is no conventional lining or push-up padding. Keeping the construction light allows the tan-through technology to work while preserving the soft, barely-there feel of the fabric.

Some prints create a more covered appearance, while others allow more of the skin beneath to show through.

• Which Prints Offer the Most Visual Coverage?

If visual coverage is a priority, we recommend starting with:

Black Leo, Leo, Ruby or Leaves. These are among our most covered-looking prints.

Palm and Bloom offer a more balanced level of visual coverage and can vary depending on skin tone and lighting.

Tiger and Emerald have a more open appearance and may look more sheer.

The tan-through technology remains the same across the prints — what changes is the visual effect.

• How Should TOPTAN Fit?

Absolutely.

TOPTAN is designed to be worn, not just sunbathed in.

Our classic silhouettes are made for relaxed beach and pool days, while sportier styles such as The Zip Up and our long-sleeve pieces are particularly suited to swimming, surfing, wake surfing and other active days by the water.

The lightweight, stretchy fabric moves easily with the body and dries quickly once you are out of the water.

• Can I Wear TOPTAN Beyond the Beach?
